By 2008 the word was well and truly out!! Articles in the Guardian, Observer, Times as well as magazines DJ Mag and Clash Magazine had heralded the discovery of something special happening in Croatia.
This coverage coupled with great word of mouth (the best promotion of all) saw the demand for tickets grow dramatically and well over 2000 were sold in advance. Boat parties were now held twice daily to ensure all festival goers had the opportunity to enjoy the unmissable experience of partying afloat. The beachfront dance stage was extended and happy revellers even took to dancing in the sea. With live shows from Bonobo and Crazy P (again check previous line-ups) and memorable DJ sets from the likes of Greg Wilson and Norman Jay the festival had by now established itself as a runaway sucess. So much so that it led to the decision to hold the 2009 Garden Festival over two weekends so that the numbers can be capped at an ideal 2000 people to guarantee the intimacy people love and also give everyone a chance to relax and enjoy chilled midweek events and turn a festival into a full-on funky holiday.
