Ste Hodge entered the wacky world of dance music through the head spin and the pause button as Electro and Hip Hop caught his imagination in the early 80’s. His tape-to-tape gave way to real decks as his ears opened up to house and soul music. Inspired by the early Soul Weekenders and the burgeoning Hacienda Steve “picked up some headphones and hasn’t put them down since!” 15 years of DJing later Steve is one of the brains behind Sick Trumpet (along with Phil Charnock and Phat Phil Cooper), helping spread the gospel of quality dance throughout Liverpool. In nearby Chester he also promotes monthly basement hideaway Cotton On, bringing some much needed soul to the city.

Steve’s sets are fuelled by the funk; his passionate selection always gets booties shaking. His faithful following at Sick Trumpet will testify to that. Recently he rocked Chibuku on NYE and gigs have now followed at Warm and 93 Feet East in London, Ultragroove in Edinburgh and Jigsawmusic in Birmingham among others. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…
