Hailing from Birmingham, in the heart of the UK, Subb-an has been making a hell of a name for himself over the last two years. It was just over two years ago that Below in Birmingham (voted the UK's most important underground party in 2008) unearthed Subb-an and immediately offered him a residency on the spot at the tender age of 21. Since then Subb-an has been most notably known for his killer 'Live Sets', where he effortlessly combines his ever-evolving discography with his in-demand edits, consistently rocking dance floors across the UK (Basics, Below, BackToFront) and Europe (Sonar, The Weekend Club, Zoo Project) with his distinctive sound.

Subb-an is part of a new breed of young DJ/Producer from the UK who are starting to make a name for them selves globally. Having been the lynchpin artist for Immigrant records for the past two years and holding down one of the best residencies in the UK at Below, Subb-an is now receiving recognition and support from some of the biggest hitters in the game. Production wise, 2009 was something of a break through year for Subb-an, composing and remixing tracks for some of the best house labels in the world such as Bpitch Control, Hypercolour and Mothership, whilst launching his own ONE Records imprint in November with Below founder Adam Shelton.

During the summer, Subb-an set up new event, BASIC, with Tom Craven (BackToFront / The Rebel Agency) and Ryan Hope (Pete's 50th); an event with no set venue, city or country, just an excuse to gather friends from around the world in amazing locations. With their first two events in London (Warehouse) and Berlin (Weekend Club) creating an amazing buzz and a secret roof terrace party planned in Barcelona during Sonar coming up, BASIC is definitely an event to keep your eye on.

2010 is set to be an exciting year for Subb-an, already being featured in Mixmag's 'One's To Watch' feature for their first issue of the decade. With new releases coming out on 20/20, Hot Natured, ONE Records and Foot and Mouth (an new Edits label set up by Dyed Soundorom and Matt Tolfrey), his diary is filling up fast with a tour of Australia in March and dates already secured at Sonar and across Europe. As Mixmag say, he really is one to watch
